Haplogroup A

 

 

 

Haplogroup A is a descendant of Haplogroup N. This Haplogroup originated in Central Asia about 40,000 years ago. This Haplogroup is one of 5 groups that are found indigenous to the Americas. The other four being B, C, D and X

It has been distributed heavily in the Americas, East Asia and even Siberia. 

 

 

 

 

Haplogroup A is linked to Eskimos, in fact, it is the most common Mitochondrial DNA found in Eskimos, Chukchis (in Russia) and Amerinds.

7.5% of Japanese have this Haplogroup.

If you fall under this one, you may have Native American blood.
