Haplogroup B

Haplogroup B is a descendant of Haplogroup R (R11'B) which is a descendant of Haplogroup N. This Haplogroup originated in Asia about 50,000 years ago. This Haplogroup is one of 5 groups that are found indigenous to the Americas. The other four being A, C, D and X.

Haplogroup B is the only Haplogroup that went from the Americas from Southern Siberia instead of Northern.

This Haplogroup is also found in Mongolians, Koreans and in the population of the Americas, Japan, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Madagascar, Philippines and Vietnam.
