Haplogroup X

Haplogroup X is a descendant of Haplogroup N. This Haplogroup originated in Asia about 25,000 years ago. This Haplogroup is one of 5 groups that are found indigenous to the Americas. The other four being A, B, C, and D

It has been distributed in about 2% of Europe and North Africa.

Haplogroup X is linked to Native Americans. 25% of Algonquian Indians, 15% of Sioux Indians, 12% of Nuu-Chah-Nolth Indians, 7% of Navajo Indians and 5% of Yakama Indians.

It is not conclusive whether these ancestors traveled with Haplogroups A, B, C and D through Northeast Asia, or by a European migration 20,000 years ago during the Bronze Age.
